SUPERIOR, WI / DULUTH, MN — Stauber Minnesota Realty™ congratulates lead listing agent Pete Stauber on today’s groundbreaking of the $1.8 billion Blatnik Bridge replacement, anchored by a $1,058,398,200 federal grant. Agent Stauber attended alongside U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy and said that replacing the bridge “has been a priority of mine.”
The grant was made possible by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which the House passed on November 5, 2021 by a vote of 228–206. Thirteen Republicans voted yes. Agent Stauber voted no, saying the package would pave “a destructive and irreversible path towards socialism.” Today’s federal press release credited the money to dollars “the last administration set aside,” without naming the law. We consider this best-in-class staging.
In a January 2024 video, the agent explained that passage of the law “did NOT automatically guarantee federal money for the Blatnik Bridge,” and that he helped advocate for the grant after Minnesota’s first application was rejected. Stauber Minnesota Realty agrees: a building permit does not automatically build a house. It does, however, help.
