Every listing agent needs credentials, and ours are excellent. Before Congress, Pete Stauber spent 22 years with the Duluth Police Department and served as president of the Law Enforcement Labor Services Union, Local 363 — a fact his campaign biography still lists. He represents the district where the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party was born and where Iron Range miners struck in 1907 and 1916 for the right to organize.
The AFL-CIO keeps a scorecard of how members of Congress vote on the bills working people care about. Agent Stauber’s 2025 score: 8%. His lifetime score: 30%. (The average House Republican scored 1% in 2025, so the agent would like it noted that he is, technically, in the top tier of his office.)
The 8% includes his votes for the One Big Beautiful Bill, for the Rescissions Act, and for a health bill that let premium assistance expire — all opposed by labor. It follows his votes against the PRO Act in 2021 and against the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, whose union construction jobs are now building the Blatnik Bridge.
And it includes one vote we are happy to list: in December 2025 he was one of 20 Republicans who voted to restore collective-bargaining rights for federal workers. The agent also introduced the Faster Labor Contracts Act, which he pitched to Teamsters Local 346 in Duluth in January — before leaving through the back door.

Fair is fair
Credit where due. On December 11, 2025, Agent Stauber voted for the Protect America’s Workforce Act, which nullifies the executive order stripping collective-bargaining rights from most federal employees, and for the discharge rule that forced the vote. Only 20 House Republicans voted for final passage. He was one of them. The AFL-CIO scored it in his favor; so do we.
We’d love to list more of these. Unfortunately that was about one vote in twelve.
